I just bought the makita 18v drill and impact driver combo and then added a bare (no battery/case) impact wrench and circular saw. Does anyone know how the drill in the link above compares with the drill in this set? However, I don't know if I'm getting the runt of the lineup this way. I like the idea of the small size (one of the reasons the M12 fuel is on the list, the small battery is nice). One more question: I chose the compact Makita 18V set, rather than the set with the hammer drill. I know Milwaukee doesn't sell a wireless RO sander, but is the 12V system going to be limiting in these other tools? Will I be buying 18V tools later if I go that way? Other tools I may want in the future: these include RO sander, grinder, multi-tool, saw of some kind, etc. There is really just one thing that make me want to go with the Makita 18V: I've heard fantastic things about the M12 Fuel. The two choices I was looking at are the M12 Fuel kit, or the Makita 18V LXT. However, this is going to be my first power tool purchase, and thus I'll probably be on the same battery system for a while. I'm looking at picking up a chordless drill soon.
